Temporary Home - The Garden Lab: Processo e Funghi; 2025
Milan Design week, Base Milano

Supported by Institut Français

Process and Fungi: The Garden Lab is a project conceived by Domaine de Boisbuchet and the Parisian design studio Aléa Work - an ever-evolving installation where humans and fungi coexist and co-create. Part garden, part laboratory, it invites visitors to explore an interspecies dialogue and engage with materials in a playful way.

Expanding on Aléa’s ongoing research with mycelium, The Garden Lab opens its exploration to public participation, fostering encounters with hybrid material entities that grow, transform, and decay. Mycelium becomes both agent and mediator, revealing slow, entangled processes and reciprocal practices with the more-than-human world.

A space for experimentation, collaboration, and slow encounters, The Garden Lab cultivates new ways of making, sensing, and imagining with living systems.
